St Anthony Sand Dunes

With 10,600 acres of white quartz sand, the St Anthony Sand Dunes are a popular attraction for off-road vehicle use. Dunes reach as high as 400 feet on the west side, also known as the “big dunes”. ORV rentals are available from vendors near the dunes. If you’re not so interested in off-roading, a lot of people explore the dunes on horse or foot.
The area is also known as wilderness study area, so visitors are ask to not disturd the vegetation and wildlife. The St Anthony Sand Dunes is also the home of thousands of wintering elk, mule deer, and moose. During the winter, they shed their antlers. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll find some come springtime.
The sand dunes are a must see, so take a ride out and explore the sandy hills. We’ll be waiting for you on the sandy beach at Wakeside Lake RV Park, when you return.
